Sustained Investigation Series
During this investigation, I explored different aspects of architecture with a variety of media. I questioned which structures are both iconic and important to me personally.
“Baker Beach” | 10” x 20” | Oil paint, gel pen, gel medium, sand on canvas | This is one of a few artworks that was inspired by a visit to San Francisco. This piece specifically is a representation of Baker Beach, and my intent was to use different media to portray and exaggerate textures in this landscape.

"Skyscraper” | 11.5” x 9” | Colored pencil | The original reference photo for this artwork was taken in Manhattan. Colored pencil allowed me to create the linear patterns I needed and also allowed me to blend and layer color and create reflections.

"Almost Rainbow Row" | 10” x 20” | Oil on canvas | My goal with this artwork was to mimic the traditional portrayals of homes in Charleston that are already familiar, (Like artworks of "Rainbow Row"). Although this is not rainbow row but a regular row of homes, my favorite part about this piece is the use of color.
