Sustained Investigation Series
My sustained investigation was exploring water. I explored how water interacts with things, how things interact with water and all the different characteristics it possesses. I investigated frozen water, droplets, splashes, fluidity and the textures to which they relate. My biggest challenge was finding various ways to represent water and capturing it. I had to research and experiment with all the sustains I did. I wanted to have different angles and substances to use. That really had me pondering for awhile.
I personally think my "aha" moment was when I sat down and talked with people around me and started to write down all the things they proposed. I started to have ideas by myself and it just kept rolling from that point. As an artist this definitely made me grow. I had to go to different places, talk to different people and experiment more than I ever would with my normal photography. Having something to force new ideas and having numerous artworks expected really pushed my limits.
